The Gorge at Lake Bovilla is a nearby hiking, rock-climbing and swimming area behind Tirana, the capital city. It probably offers the most significant single area of rock climbing in the capital region of Tirana-Shijak-Durres-Kruje, and is about an hour and fifteen minutes drive from downtown Tirana. This area has the most varied terrain and is an excellent place to climb all year. Climbs are on either side of a ridge so there is always shade from the Sun in the summer or warmth in the winter. Additionally, during the summer a small bar/restaurant opens next to the river where you can lounge in the cool waters or enjoy a refreshing drink and local food
