SARANDE

Our guide will meet you IN Saranda where we will have a visit around the city center.Then we will set off to Butrinti which is a world archeological richness of UNESCO declared as such after the 90`. As you drive to the archeological site you can enjoy the panorama over Vivari Channel and learn about the Ali Pasha military outpost built around the 19th century to guard Corfu strait. In the archeological site you will be guided through its well preserved monuments . After that we visit the Blue eye. It is the greatest fountain and the most interesting one from the 18 fountains coming from the edge of the wide mountain. It is a natural monument. This natural, deep spring embodies the clear, vibrant blue color which is seen in many of Albania’s water bodies. The way in which the water bubbles up to the surface helps create the illusion of an eye, with the dark-colored center as the pupil, and the surrounding blue water appearing as the iris. Return to Saranda city and have lunch. After that we visit the Castle of Lekuresi from the 14th century Byzantine period. The castle is situated in the middle of the ruins of the Lekures village on the top of a high hill rising over the city of Saranda. Here our tour comes to an end.
