2-Day Kosovo Escape: Peja, Bogë Mountains & Historic Prizren

If you want to cross the border and see the best of western Kosovo in a single weekend, this 2-day trip is the way to do it. We built this itinerary to give you a massive variety of landscapes in just 48 hours.

Organized by Fiori Travel & Tours Agency (fioritravel.al), this tour takes you from the loud, freezing rush of the White Drin Waterfall to the snowy mountain slopes of Bogë, and finally into the cobblestone alleys of Prizren. We handle the driving, the border crossing, and the hotel, so you can just enjoy the ride.

The Weekend Breakdown

Day 1: Peja’s Nature & City Life

• The Morning Run: We start early to beat the border traffic. We pick up in Tirana at 06:00 and Durrës at 05:15 (Note: Durrës departures require a minimum of 9 people). After a quick coffee stop on the road, we cross into Kosovo.

• Waterfalls & Caves: Our first major stop is just outside the city of Peja. We hike up to see the White Drin Waterfall and explore the massive underground network of the Radac Cave. These are two of the most impressive natural landmarks in the country.

• City Exploring & Spa Time: After grabbing lunch at a local restaurant in Peja, we check into the hotel. From here, the evening is yours. You can use the hotel’s indoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna to warm up, or take a walk through the Peja Old Bazaar, check out the Haxhi Zeka Mill, and relax in the Peace Park.

Day 2: The Rugova Mountains & Prizren

• Up to Bogë: After a heavy hotel breakfast, we drive straight up into the famous Rugova region. Our destination is the mountain village of Bogë. If you want to ski, the snowy slopes are right there. If you just want to relax, grab a hot coffee at one of the wooden lodges and take in the winter landscape.

• Exploring Prizren: By the afternoon, we leave the mountains and head south to Prizren. Widely considered the cultural capital of Kosovo, Prizren is packed with incredible Ottoman architecture, old stone bridges, and a fortress overlooking the city. You will have plenty of free time to grab a late lunch and explore the Old Town.

• Heading Home: We load back into the vehicle in the late afternoon, making a few short coffee stops on the drive back before dropping you off in Tirana in the evening.
