Shkalla E Tujanit, Rruga e Arbërit,You don’t have to drive for hours to find fresh air and open landscapes in Albania. Just outside the busy streets of Tirana lies Shkalla e Tujanit, a scenic rural gorge that is perfect for a quick, active getaway.
If you want to stretch your legs, get out of the city traffic, and spend a few hours riding through the countryside, this half-day cycling trip by Fiori Travel (fioritravel.al) is exactly what you need.
We meet up, grab our gear, and start pedaling toward Tujan. We stick to quieter roads that take us straight out of the city and into the green countryside. The route is about 15 miles round-trip. Don’t worry if you aren’t a hardcore athlete—the pace is relaxed, the terrain is manageable, and we take plenty of short water breaks to catch our breath and enjoy the view.
Once we reach the village, we drop the bikes and find a solid spot by the water. We bring the grill and set it up; you just need to bring whatever food you want to cook. While lunch is grilling, you can relax, grab a drink from the local village bar, or—if the weather is hot enough—jump in the water for a quick swim to cool off.
After we eat and relax, we jump back on the saddles for the return trip to Tirana. The ride back is actually a bit easier, letting you coast and enjoy the final stretch of rural scenery before hitting the city center.
To keep this trip flexible and affordable, we handle the guiding and the grill, but you handle your own bike and food.
✅ What we provide:
Round-trip transportation (to the starting point, if needed)
A professional cycling guide for the entire route
The barbecue grill setup
❌ What’s on you:
Your bicycle (You will need to bring your own or rent one locally before we start)
Lunch/BBQ food (Bring your own meat, veggies, or snacks to throw on the grill)
Since we are out in the sun and riding, make sure you show up prepared:
Comfortable sneakers (no sandals for riding)
At least 1.5 liters of drinking water
Food for the BBQ
Swimwear and a towel (if you plan to swim)
A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
This isn’t a grueling mountain biking expedition; it is a laid-back, social ride. It’s the perfect way to burn some calories, see how the locals live just outside the capital, and eat great food outdoors.
