2-Day trip Kodra e Diellit Ski & Spa Weekend: Skopje to Tetovo

Looking for a winter getaway that mixes serious mountain skiing with city sightseeing and 5-star relaxation? This 2-day weekend trip across the border into North Macedonia hits all the right notes.

Organized by Fiori Travel (fioritravel.al), this tour is built for travelers who want to hit the snowy slopes of the Šar Mountains during the day and warm up in a luxury Turkish bath by night. We handle the driving, the border crossing, and the hotel bookings. You just need to bring your winter gear.

Trip Breakdown

Day 1: City Sights, Skopje Zoo & 5-Star Spa Time

• The Early Departure: We want to maximize our time, so we hit the road early. We pick up in Durrës at 05:10 and Tirana at 06:00, crossing the border into North Macedonia at Dibra e Madhe.

• Exploring Skopje: Our first major stop is the capital city. We start with a visit to the Skopje Zoo (home to lions, elephants, penguins, and more) before heading into the city center. Your guide will walk you through the massive Alexander the Great square, across the historic Stone Bridge, and into the bustling alleys of the Old Bazaar.

• Checking into Tetovo: In the late afternoon, we drive to Tetovo and check you into the NB & Spa 5-Star Hotel. After a long day of walking, you get full access to the indoor heated pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and Turkish bath. We wrap up the night with a group dinner served right at the hotel.

Day 2: Hitting the Slopes at Kodra e Diellit

• Morning on the Mountain: After a heavy hotel breakfast, we drive straight up to the Kodra e Diellit (Sun Mountain) Ski Center. Sitting between 1,070 and 2,510 meters above sea level in the Šar Mountains, this resort features 11 different ski lifts and over 20 kilometers of skiable trails.

• Time to Ski: Whether you are a beginner or looking to tackle the three FIS-certified professional trails, you have the bulk of the day to ski, snowboard, or just enjoy the snow. Our tour leader is right there to help you figure out gear rentals and lift passes.

• The Drive Home: After grabbing lunch at one of the mountain restaurants, we load back into the vehicle and make the scenic drive back to Albania via Elbasan, dropping you off in Tirana and Durrës in the evening.
