2-DAY TOUR IN TIRANA & KRUJA
Begin your journey with a scenic morning departure toward two of Albania’s most iconic destinations—Tirana, the lively capital, and Kruja, the historic mountain city known as the heart of Albanian resistance. This unforgettable 2-day tour combines vibrant city life, deep cultural heritage, and breathtaking history.
Day 1 – Discover the Spirit of Tirana
Our experience begins in Tirana, a city where tradition blends seamlessly with modern energy. The tour starts with a visit to the National Museum of History, offering a comprehensive introduction to Albania’s past through its fascinating exhibits and artifacts.
We’ll continue our exploration with a walk through Skanderbeg Square, Tirana’s main cultural hub, surrounded by the city’s most important landmarks. Nearby, we will visit the Et’hem Bey Mosque, a national treasure known for its intricate frescoes, followed by a stroll toward the Bunk’Art museum—one of Albania’s most impressive historical installations built inside a Cold War bunker.
Tirana’s vibrant streets, colorful architecture, and lively cafés give you a true taste of the city’s modern lifestyle. After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to explore the city, enjoy local dishes, or relax in the bustling New Bazaar.
Day 2 – The Historic Fortress City of Kruja
The next morning, we depart for Kruja, the legendary hometown of Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Perched on a mountain slope, Kruja is a symbol of Albanian resistance and a destination rich in culture and tradition.
Our visit begins in the Old Bazaar, one of Albania’s oldest and most charming markets, where artisans still craft traditional items by hand. Here, you can find souvenirs, antiques, silverwork, and beautifully woven carpets.
We continue to the iconic Kruja Castle, a fortress that played a central role in Albania’s fight against the Ottoman Empire. Inside the castle walls, we will explore the Skanderbeg Museum, featuring an impressive collection of historical documents, weapons, and artifacts dedicated to Albania’s most celebrated leader. Next, we visit the Ethnographic Museum, housed in a beautifully preserved 18th-century home that showcases traditional Albanian life.
Before returning to Tirana, you will have time to enjoy a traditional Albanian lunch and admire the sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and Adriatic coastline.
